This was a strange story. The 2 MCs had history and though it is continuously mentioned, you never really get the backstory. Consequently, I couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. How had Mitch changed? You never found out how he used to be.The synopsis says the 2 MCs are adversaries. Not really the word I would have chosen, upon meeting again after several years the first thing they do is hug and go out on a date. I'm not sure if I was just expecting a completely different story so I was unhappy with the one presented or if I just couldn't see the picture the author was trying to illustrate.
At any rate, I encourage you to try a sample before buying. I felt like I never got the full story, and what I did get took place over the course of a few hours a couple days apart.

Most of us have at least "one that got away" in our past--and for most of us, the chance never comes to see what might have happened if we'd made different choices. A chance encounter on the subway gives Chase and Mitch the opportunity, maybe not to see what *might* have happened (after all, a lot has changed since high school) but a chance to see what might happen *now* that that they're both older and wiser....and have experienced one or two bad break-ups. Low angst, but loved it just the same (anyone who knows me, knows I tend to go for the angst-riddle, tear-your-heart-out stories ) ) Sweet and satisfying with lovely, hopeful, HFN ending.
The characters were charming and smart and the love scenes were hot. I would have loved a longer story to spend more time with them.
